Art begins in my mind. The greater part of the artistic process is complete by the time the artwork commences its appearance in the outside world.
It is my conviction that every person born with a task. By that, I don't mean "something to be done for society," but simply "something he is made to do." One such possible task is "to be an artist." Being an artist is a goal; using art for something else, although that can happen, is not the kind of task with which someone is born. Social message, although important in various historical times and places, is currently hopelessly outmoded. And even when social message is front and center, art remains, at the core, about art.
